3-Day Murchison Safari Details:
Day 1: To Murchison and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Your trip to Uganda’s top national park starts in either Entebbe or Kampala. Based on where you’re picked up, the 3-day safari starts after breakfast at your hotel. The approximately 300 km drive from Kampala to Murchison (Paraa) takes about 4 to 6 hours. There are few stopovers along the way. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the first stopover.
At the sanctuary, we will have a guided tour to see the rhinoceros and enjoy lunch. After this memorable encounter, we’ll head to the park. We can take either the Masindi route or the Karuma Falls route to our booked place.
- Hornbill Bush Lodge
- Murchison River Lodge
- Fort Murchison Safari Lodge, or your preferred choice.
Along the park’s highway, we will spot various animals as we head to our overnight stay.
Day 2
Murchison Falls Safari along the Nile River and a game drive.
A boat trip along the Nile to the top of Murchison Falls is exciting. Water birds, crocodiles, and hippopotamuses are common residents of the Nile River. The climax of the safari is an afternoon game drive. We will see the most exciting wildlife in the northern part of the park, above the Victoria Nile.
Lions, buffalo, giraffes, elephants, and antelopes are abundant in this savannah park. It’s filled with Borassus palm trees.
Murchison Falls National Park is a gem. It’s perfect for those who can spend more time exploring. You can trek for chimpanzees in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest. Then, visit Buligi Peninsula. Also, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Albert Delta, where many species breed.
After the evening game drive, we return to the lodge for dinner and rest through the night.
Day 3: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
On the third day of our safari, we will check out of the lodge early in the morning to head to Kampala/Entebbe. On the way back, we’ll drive through the park. We’ll enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife of Murchison. We will drive back to the airport or lodge of choice at the end of the safari.
