Day 1: To Mburo
Leave early in the morning (around 6:30 a.m.) after breakfast. The drive from Entebbe to Lake Mburo covers about 225 kilometers, taking roughly 3 to 4 hours.
Take a break for lunch. You can relax at the Igongo Cultural Centre. It is the Western Uganda Cultural/Historical Museum. Choose based on your available time. Other options include the Courtyard International Hotel or Sky Blue Motel. Igongo is rich in cultural knowledge. Nearby, the Biharwe Eclipse Monument shares stories of Uganda’s solar eclipse in 1520.
After lunch, enter the park through Nshara Gate or Sanga Gate, depending on where you had lunch. On the safari, enjoy stunning savanna views with impalas and Burchell’s zebras. Spot animals like giraffes, leopards, hippos, and hyenas on your game drive. You can also see topis, elands, buffalo, and warthogs during your boat trip. Swamp bird species such as the shoebill stork are abundant.
Check in at Budget Eagle’s Nest. Mid-range Rwakobo Rock or high-end Mihingo Lodge after your late afternoon game drive.
Day 2: To Entebbe/Kampala
Enjoy an early breakfast to prepare for another game drive in Lake Mburo Park. Other rewarding activities include exploring the famous salt lick. Early mornings are great for seeing animals. You might spot some that you missed yesterday.
